Dear DestinyLife Family,

 

We are pleased to announce that Jonathan and Elishya Cook will be taking a sabbatical from June 10 through September 15—a much-needed time of rest, renewal, and spiritual refreshing.

Jonathan has faithfully served on staff for the past ten years, shouldering significant leadership and organizational responsibilities. In particular, the last three and a half years have placed an extraordinary demand on his time and energy. We are grateful to support Jonathan and Elishya during this sabbatical as they step away from pastoral duties and leadership responsibilities. They will return to their full roles in September, recharged and refreshed.

As a church, we are continuing to grow in our understanding of the value of sabbaticals for those carrying primary leadership burdens. When Ami and I took our sabbatical ten years ago, it was the first such experience for our congregation—and it proved to be a vital investment in our longevity and health as leaders.
